What must I do to be saved?

James 1:22 admonishes us to prove ourselves to be doers of the word and not merely hearers, who delude themselves. All to often we don't do anything because of apathy or ignorance. I can't put a link on a web page that will fix apathy, but there is a link that will—prayer! To combat ingnorance, the following are some ideas and issues that you can become aware of and get involved in. Whether it is evangelism, prayer support, writing your congressmen, signing petitions, spreading the word, giving of either your time, talent or resources, a kind word or something else, there is something each and everyone of us can do. At the very least we can become informed and spread the truth about a variety of issues.

In addition to the links below, the Center for Reclaiming America is an excellent resource to keep you informed about some of the latest issues concerning our culture.

Pray for our nation!
Pray for our leaders in government at all levels. Prayer for the safety of our troops in Iraq. Pray for our President and may GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Slavery
Sounds like something out of a history book doesn't it? Unfortunately, it is very much alive and well. In fact, there may be more slaves than ever before—27 million—according to Anti-Slavery International in London. And, in many situations, these modern days slaves endure even more brutality than those of the past. To find out more and how you can help, visit the following web site:

Speak Out
Vote.com is more than an opinion poll. It covers a wide variety of issues many of which are of concern for Christians who believe in being salt and light (Matthew 5:13–16). In addition to posting results, Vote.com sends an e-mail to significant decision-makers (i.e. congressional representatives, senators, the president, heads of corporations/organizations) telling them how you feel about a particular issue.

Boy Scouts of America
Having been a Boy Scout myself, I can personally attest to the impact it can have in the lives of young men. The Boy Scouts have long been the epitome of honor, service, morality, values and duty to God and country. True to the oath taken by each scout, they require participants and leaders to be "morally straight." This has put them under fire from certain activists who have managed to have much of their public funding pulled, through various political tactics. For more information regarding the Boy Scouts and the battles they face to preserved their morals, please check out these sites:
